Supports people who are experiencing unemployment and interested in a career in care or the Public Sector to find out more about what is involved, gain the skills and induction level qualifications they need to apply for entry level posts, and get support with job applications or interview skills. The Academy is supported by a partnership involving NHS Tayside, Perth & Kinross Council, Perth College, Job Centre Plus and Skills Development Scotland.
There is a full time course, held at Perth College, which includes work placements, and is designed to provide students with a chance to both gain the learning they need and experience real life work roles in health and social care settings. The course includes:
- Team working
- First Aid training
- Food Hygiene Training
- Moving and Handling training
- Adult Support and Protection
- Dementia Awareness
- CV building
- Interview Skills
- Support with application forms
And a lot more...
The Academy also supports young people through individual work placements, and is looking to develop services in more rural areas.
