Job Opportunity : Perth & Kinross Council’s Supported Living Team in Perth are hiring now!
A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen within the Supported Living Team and we require dynamic individuals who are motivated to support individuals with learning disabilities to lead as ordinary a life as possible in the community. You will support individuals in their own tenancies with a variety of daily living tasks, and support individuals to access activities in the community as outlined in individual personal plans. You will be privileged to support and encourage individuals to undertake all aspects of daily living, this including personal care tasks. You will assist individuals in group activities, in addition support individuals to access community based social, leisure, and employment related opportunities to ensure they fulfill their full potential. Duties may also include undertaking cleaning and other domestic duties as necessary.
You should have experience of working with vulnerable adults who have learning disabilities/autistic spectrum disorders. In addition you should have good communication skills and an awareness of health and safety. Community working is required to support tenants in their homes and in localities such as Perth & Blairgowrie. You will have the ability to make decisions and know when to seek further advice from managers. Be able to develop good working relationships with colleagues and others to ensure shared goals are achieved. Take responsibility for yourself, customers/service users, contractors and others and ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation. Promote and act as role model for the Council’s values and commitment to equality and diversity. Promote positive values and anti-discriminatory, non-judgmental practice and treat colleagues and customers with dignity and respect in line with the Employee Code of Conduct and SSSC Codes of Conduct.
