Westbank is a provider of educational and employability related activities for clients with significant barriers preventing undertaking paid employment. Partially funded by European Social fund we facilitate basic courses in joinery, horticulture and land based industries, and plan to expand our offer adding other trades and skills soon. In the second phase of Westbank project we anticipate to deliver certified courses in machinery operation (forklift, telehandler, etc.).
Westbank can also provide facilities for partner organisations and their clients requiring high level of support to learn new skills by working on basic gardening tasks. This service is directed to clients furthest away from the job market, where significant input is required to move them towards the beginning of employability pipeline.
Clients at Westbank come from various referral streams, with majority of them being offenders sentenced to Community Payback, but we can also provide school placement programmes and custom tailored solutions for most challenging client groups.
