Employment Support Officer, Employment Support Team PKC08641 £15,867 - £17,352 (23.5 hours/week) 41D St. Catherine's Road, Perth PH1 5SJ
You will provide an employability service for adults who have a range of barriers to access work including learning disability, mental ill health, autism spectrum condition or acquired brain injury. You will have the opportunity and be responsible for supporting individuals on a caseload through all 5 stages of the Employability Pipeline. You will also work directly with employers throughout Perth and Kinross area and progress work related opportunities. You will also be involved in and responsible for leading appraisal meetings, attending case conferences, formulating Vocational Profiles and progressing Action Plans to meet specified and future outcomes. Attendance to HR Tribunals / Meetings / Disciplinary Hearings, may be required to support the service user. A full UK driving licence and a willingness to drive Perth and Kinross Council Vehicles is essential for this post. The Employment Support Team operate between 08:00 -17:00 Monday to Friday (this may be subject to change) but you will be required to work flexibly including evenings and weekends.
We require a dynamic individual who is confident, motivated and creative to support individuals with disabilities to access paid employment. Experience of working in an employability related area supporting vulnerable adults would be desirable. In addition you should have an awareness of workplace health and safety requirements. You will be expected to advocate for people with barriers to employment and promote equality in a diverse range of workplaces. The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills including verbal, non verbal and written. Good IT skills, ability to work on own initiative and as part of a busy team. The ability to work flexibly from home and in the community during ever changing circumstances is required.
Entry Requirement for this post is: To hold SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF level 6 (was SVQ2) or equivalent; Required and supported to work towards SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF level 7 (was SVQ3); Required and supported to work towards Qualification in Supported Employment.
