Engage Inspire Improve Sustain
Apex Tayside’s Employment and Guidance service is delivered in partnership with Criminal Justice Services in the associated local authority areas. In Perth, Apex specifically supports individuals who are serving live community orders, and also individuals upon release from prison. The aim of E&G is to identify and address individual’s barriers to employability through the ‘A Positive Future’ approach. This combines support for personal development, core, basic and life skills, and has the main goal of (re-) engaging individuals in meaningful activity. Apex aims to progress individuals to a stage where they are ‘job ready’ and to access appropriate opportunities from volunteering, to further education, training and employment. Apex also offers specialist expertise and guidance on the disclosure process and how to overcome a criminal record as a barrier to moving on.
