Transition Joint Working with ECS Fairview School

📰 Transition Joint Working with ECS Fairview School

Work experience for school pupils is extremely valuable to give them a sense of what it’s like to do a job in a real life setting. They can learn many important skills such as timekeeping, health & safety, customer services, and team working, etc., as well as getting an idea of what sort of job they may like to do when they leave school or indeed what they may not want to do!
Transition from school to further education or employment can be challenging for any pupil, but it can be even more so when you face additional challenges such as illness or disability. Often, opportunities in a supported employment setting can be very hard to come across and many young people are missing out.
The Employment Support Team are keen to help address this and were delighted to help Fairview School give Josh and Callum a work experience as recycling operatives on the Green2Go project.
